This project was from MOME 729, creating a text-based animation of a dialogue from the movie the Legend of 1900.
Goal
The purpose of this project is to practice the visual image of words and how movement expresses emotions.

Concept
The main content of the transcript is that the protagonist believed that the lifestyle on a ship is limited and can be controlled, while the desires on land are too much to be controlled, so he refused to leave the ship.
Transcript
1.I was born on this ship. And the world passed me by, but 2,000 people at a time.
2.And there were wishes here, but never more than fit between prow and stern.
3.You played out your happiness on a piano that was not infinite.
4.I learned to live that way. Land? Land is a ship too big for me.
5.It’s a woman too beautiful. It’s a voyage too long, perfume too strong.
6. It’s music I don’t know how to make. I could never get off this ship.
Design Development Process
First I try to find the possibilities of letters and shapes.
In the whole design process, this link is crucial, even though they may look ordinary. But this is the basis for subsequent creativity, without these experiments, ideas and ideas can not be polished.
The core of creativity lies in the semantic puns or multiple meanings of language, text, letters, animation, and visual imagery. This conclusion was something I realized within six months after completing the project. When making this project, I was simply following the logic of great design works I had seen in the past, but I didn't understand the underlying logic. In fact, neuroscience has explained everything: the brain perceives the outside world through neural signals based on chemical substances. When two or more signals interact and form a coordinated, orderly, and rhythmic superimposed signal, people will exhibit pleasure and interest. This is why I tried to integrate letters, symbols, and composition to express designs with rich layers and interest.
